GIS-gestützte Analyse der räumlichen Verteilung des Lebensmitteleinzelhandels in Deutschland

Hochschule Neubrandenburg, 2013

Abstract: This thesis is concerned with the GIS-based analysis of the spatial distribution of locations of the food retail (LEH) in Germany. For this, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) acquired data records of TradeDimensions, which is a business unit of the worldwide operating market research corporation The Nielsen Company. These data records include information about each point of sale and warehouse of the German food retail. They are supposed to be analysed for the occurence of geographic differences in the spatial distribution of the locations. Moreover, the question arises if the results of this analysis allow conclusions to spatial requirements for locations of food retailers. In the course of this thesis a system has been developed for the DLR which geocodes the data records of TradeDimensions. The geocoding is executed with the help of the geo-referenced address records of the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG). These records are saved in a database that builds the core of the system.
