Abstract: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to work out the algorithm to an inverse problem. The origin of the problem will be deduced from the impact on the system. Considering the shifting of the GPS sensors, tsunami parameters will be achieved with the help of the German Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System (GITEWS) and the shifting will be derived according to this data. The problem can be simplified as an under-determined equation of the type Ax=b . The inverse problem is solved using various approximation procedures, the Richardson itera-tion, the modified Richardson iteration, conjugate gradients and the QR decomposition as a direct algorithm. To conclude with, these algorithms are confronted and suggestions as to their implementation are given.
