Junge Erwachsene stellen einen Übergang zwischen Jugend- und Erwachsenenstatus dar.
Ihre Zeit ist von Herausforderungen geprägt und bietet kaum Raum für traditionelle
Entwicklungslinien. Depressive Erkrankungen wirken auf diese Bezugsgruppe zunehmend
irritierend, zumal viele schon frühzeitig durch Familienproblematiken nachhaltig geprägt
wurden. In den auslaufenden Jugendhilfen geht ein weiterer Halt verloren, wobei Hilfen
der Erwachsenenpsychiatrie viele junge Erwachsene noch überfordern. Vorhandene Möglichkeiten
und Grenzen der Hilfen werden in dieser Arbeit diskutiert.

Young adults illustrate the new generation among the status of a youngster and an
adult. Modern challenges seem to prevent a traditional development. Depressive diseases
make their way even more complicated. Moreover, lots of them already experienced long
lasting problems in childhood and family life. Child and youth services end, leaving
insecurity. On the other hand psychiatric adult services overcharge the people. This
thesis discusses possibilities for help within specific limits.
