Vegetationskundliche und faunistische Untersuchungen am 'Regenrückhaltebecken Bethanienberg' in Neubrandenburg

Hochschule Neubrandenburg, 2009

Abstract: In the early 1990s rainwater retention basins (RRB) were built in Neubrandenburg for the controlled collection and forwarding of rainwater. What is the impact of those rainwater retention basins with respect to its development on animal habitats and plants? In the framework of this paper, a close study of this impact has been carried out on the rainwater retention basin 03 'Bethanienberg' together with a description of the technical components. An assessment of the efficiency of the compensation areas, the closeness to the original nature as well as the nearby settlement and its influences have been considered altogether. Some proposals for a further management, the maintenance and development of the rainwater retention basin are also to be found in this paper. .
