Aerodynamische Berechnungen zu raketengestützten in–situ Neutralgasdichtemessungen in der mittleren Atmosphäre

Abstract: The lowest temperature in the whole atmosphere exists in the polar summer mesopause (83 km), where you can find some interesting phenomena like NLC (noctilucent clouds) and PMSE (polar mesosphere summer echoes). One possibility of their investigation are sounding rockets. A new instrument for the measurement of the number density is the PIRANI gauge as a part of the ECOMA payload. Because of the supersonic motion of the rocket a shockwave appears at the front of the instrument. The correction of the measurements with the help of DSMC (Direct Simulation Monte Carlo) is the content of this dissertation.
