Umgestaltung des Karl-Förster-Gartens im Tierpark Berlin- Friedrichsfelde

Abstract: This bachelor paper contains the modification of the "Karl-Foerster-Garden" within the zoo "Tierpark Berlin-Friedrichsfelde". The concept of the new version is based on the shrub garden, set in 1974 inside the "Tierpark Berlin". Already in 1962 a plan was established in collaboration with Karl Foerster, who died 1970, and an architecture team under the guidance of Editha Bendig. The original plan changed throughout the time and only part of it was realized. To compensate the alteration of the original character of the "Karl-Foerster-Garden", the new concept is drawn upon the classical principals, the encouragement and the target course of the famous Garden-philosopher and plant cultivator Karl Foerster.
