Topographische Datenerfassung mittels Airborne Laserscanning : Verbesserte Digitale Geländemodelle mittels full-waveform ALS-Daten

Hochschule Neubrandenburg, 2009

Abstract: This thesis presents the basic principles of conventional discrete echo airborne laser scanning (ALS) and the advanced full waveform airborne laser scanning (FWF-ALS) systems. Furthermore, the determination of digital terrain models (DTM) with and without consideration of the full waveform (FWF) information is considered and discussed within a practical example. After a short introduction, the thesis discusses the physical fundamentals of ALS and the associated mechanisms for the beam deflection. Additionally, the natural influence factors on the measuring procedure are described. This should help to understand the ALS data. Afterwards, the different coordinate systems of the aircraft platform, which are needed for the calculation of ALS points and their accuracies are introduced. Furthermore, this work explains the calibration of ALS systems and the fine-georeferencing of ALS flight strips. The following chapters include definitions for different derived models and methods for the classification of ALS point clouds into terrain and off-terrain-points. Afterwards, further details for the generation of digital terrain models (DTM) and digital surface models (DSM) from ALS data are explained.
