Automatisierung der Detektierung von äquatorialen Plasmainstabilitäten der Ionosphäre

Hochschule Neubrandenburg, 2009

Abstract: The ionosphere denotes the ionized part of the upper atmosphere. It is subject to a number of irregularities which can influence the signals of satellite based navigation systems like GPS in a way that its proper usage can be affected. One of these irregularities is called equatorial spread-F. It is studied at the German Research Centre for Geosciences. The study is based on the measurements of the satellite mission CHAMP. The analysis of these measurements is realised by a manual procedure until now. This bachelor thesis describes how the existing procedure for the analysis of the CHAMP measurements can be implemented in a way that all necessary calculations are proceeded automatically.
