Abstract: This degree dissertation is concerned with the development of regional management concepts in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for selected species of the Habitats Directive (Council Directive 92/43/EEC). Several species listed in the Annexes to the Habitats Directive are rare or require a large space. The declaration of a habitat to a Natura 2000 site does not necessarily effect the required protection. In order to ensure the conservation needed, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will set up regional management concepts for selected species of annex II to the Habitats Directive. This degree dissertation illustrates the development of management concepts with the examples of the Creeping Marshwort (Apium repens) and the Marsh Fritillary (Euphydryas aurinia).
